Vancuver 2010 Team GB

I've made the team for the 2010 Vancouver Paralympics! Intense training shall continue. Very excited about my first Paralympics, I'm planning to stay fit and injury free and go for gold!

I have just returned home for a couple of days before racing in the Europa Cup in Spain. It's great to see Pete, my fiance after two months apart and enjoy some downtime.

Ellacotts' Support

Here I am at the top of the race course, visualising (not praying!), and it worked!

I'd like to welcome on board Ellacotts Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers from Banbury, many thanks for your support! Click on the title to link to Ellacotts' website.

Flights booked for Europa Cup races in La Molina, Spain at the end of the month, after which I'll spend a few days back in the UK before flying up to Scotland for the British Paralympic Association Paralymic Team Celebration. Then I'll be jet setting off to Kimberley, BC, Canada to qualify in the Speed Races for the Paralympics! That is if all keeps going to plan, I get good results in La Molina and get picked!

We're having a cold snap, -20 yesterday, but the powder made it well worth it! Unfortunately I ripped my jacket skiing in the trees, but nothing a patch won't mend. Tree skiing training is great for forcing one to turn lots, while ripping through a bowl of virgin pow on my new fat Head ski makes big floating arks through the pow so much fun! Akin to speed training perhaps.

Sky News Fame!

Training's been going really well since the races, especially the last couple of days in Giant Slalom, loving it!

Christmas was unique again, and the racers who don't have local homes managed to cook up a turkey which was fun but I failed to bring over a Christmas Pud from home, schoolgirl error.

New Years was toasted in style with x-pat Brit friends and their small children at 5pm with a curry (and glass of champagne)! We did stay up until 12, in PJs, a rare luxury! It's really exciting that 2010 is upon us, and I'm skiing better than ever. Very excited about the next few months!

The Park City races have been postponed due to lack of snow so I'm now coming back to race in the Europa Cup in Spain at the end of the month, have never raced in Europe so it'll be an interesting experience.

I also made it onto Sky News today, check out the link (click on the title).

Happy New Year!
